Bird Watching

The Kakum Rainforest is home to about 266 species of birds including hornbills, frazer-eagle owl, african gray and senegal parrot, white-breasted guineafowl (Agelastes meleagrides) and threatened yellow-throated olive bird (Criniger olivaceus).

The best times to observe the birds at Kakum is either early morning or late afternoon. The best views are from the Canopy Walkway.  Bird watchers must book in advance to get access to the park at these times.
